The City of North Charleston had contracted with Carriage Hill Associates of Charleston and the owner CharlesTowne Square Assoc., LLC to purchase and renovate a 150,000 s.f. four-story spec office building that I was architect of record for and renovate the building to accommodate the new City Hall. The renovation included a 2500 sf entrance addition, a 3-story atrium area with skylight, a 130 seat auditorium/council chamber, a jail and health club plus 125,000 sf of departmental space. My responsibilities included program development with a team of advisers from the City of North Charleston, preliminary design development and construction document completion. I was also on site weekly during the construction for construction administration services. The project received a Silver LEED certification.
